Milano incontra la Grecia, the festival with a European character, aimed at promoting Greek culture abroad, returns to the Piccolo. While Greece is still in the throes of a serious economic recession and of social tension, its artistic freshness and vivacity is certainly neither impoverished or immobile, and in fact is experiencing a period of elevated activity. The festival includes artists from the world of theatre, contemporary dance, music and visual arts. The programme is currently being defined.
“The Piccolo Teatro - said Lydia Koniordou, the Greek Minister for Culture and Sport - of which we have wonderful memories, has always been very open to international artistic innovation, such as during the co-production of the play Odyssey, directed by Robert Wilson, with the Greek National Theatre. I am delighted that the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sport can contribute, after two years of absence, to the return of the festival which, for ten years, has brought the best of contemporary Greek creativity to Italy”.
