LaFil brings to the Teatro Studio Melato a concert inspired by Miracle in Milan by Vittorio De Sica and Cesare Zavattini, which comes to life again at the Piccolo in a stage adaptation directed by Claudio Longhi.
Under the baton of Andreas Ottensamer, making his Milan debut as conductor, LaFil performs the string ensemble arrangement of Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8 and three celebrated songs by Kurt Weill, arranged by Luciano Berio for ensemble and mezzo-soprano.
In the second part, LaFil presents Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major, creating a musical journey through the twentieth century that interlaces the social and cultural tensions of the era with the lyricism of the European tradition.
Principal clarinetist of the Berliner Philharmoniker and a distinguished soloist, Andreas Ottensamer has in recent years established himself as an internationally acclaimed conductor. Winner of the Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Festival, he has led ensembles such as the NHK Symphony, Tokyo Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, and Orquestra Gulbenkian. An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist, he collaborates with world-renowned musicians including Yuja Wang and Gautier Capuçon, and serves as Artistic Director of the Bürgenstock Festival in Switzerland.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes plus an intermission
