Beyond the stage – Shades of the season

Oltre la scena – Riflessi di stagione (Beyond the stage – Shades of the season) brings together the series of activities that the Piccolo has created in close relation to its programming, creating a wide-ranging variety of initiatives that expand the ecosystem of the shows.

The many encounters and discussions with companies and theatrical operators (Parole in pubblico, Chi è di scena?) are joined, this year, by a cycle of events dedicated to relationships (Dobbiamo parlare!), which sees figures from the stage in dialogue with special guests selected directly by the artists.

There are presentations of books related to the season (Segnalibro), film screenings in the city’s cinemas (Sguardi paralleli), walks and theatrical tours in symbolic areas of Milan (Walk_Talk), as well as workshops and masterclasses (Teatro in platea), where spectators are given the opportunity to experience brief theatrical exercises.

A world range of formats bringing vitality to theatrical reasoning beyond the stage, transforming the theatre into a place of daily life, where we can come together to examine the complexity of observation.

Chi è di scena?
(Places, please!)

Pre-show encounters between spectators and theatrical operators, just a few minutes before the curtain raises.

Parole in pubblico
(Words in public)

Conversations with artists, experts and scholars, as well as conferences and lessons accompanied by readings. Special format for the season: Dobbiamo parlare! (We Have to Talk!) a dialogue between figures from the stage and special guests chosen directly by the companies.

Segnalibro
(Bookmark)

Book presentations and events dedicated to the world of publishing (for the theatre and beyond) related to the season, with the Piccolo and the city’s bookshops serving as the perfect setting.

Sguardi paralleli
(Parallel Perspectives)

Screenings of one or more films chosen to form part of a cinematographic review – running parallel to and complementing the shows – to explore what currently feeds the shared imagination of stage and screen.

Teatro in platea
(Theatre in the Stalls)

Masterclasses and workshops in which spectators and members of the general public are invited to share thoughts and ideas on the works being staged, and to join the actors from the companies in brief theatrical exercises.

Walk_Talk

Tours of museums and symbolic places in the city, where the voices of actors and expert guides echo the themes explored in the shows.
