For the fourth year in a row, Il teatro tiene banco is back — a project made possible thanks to the generous support of Fondazione Monte di Lombardia: a program of shows and activities dedicated to different school-age audiences, in which the performing arts serve as a useful tool for students and teachers to enrich their educational paths.

Thanks to the contribution of Regione Lombardia, the second edition of the project takes the form of cycles or courses in “educating the gaze”, which include recitals, “performances” in schools, and workshops, forming a calendar of 60 events in the districts of 23 municipalities, covering 10 Lombardy provinces.

An course aimed at exploring theatrical practices and their historical and theoretical development. A series of lessons and workshops blending practice and theory, organised throughout the municipalities of Milan to foster direct dialogue between the theatre and the people, thanks to the involvement of our operators and actors, as well as of the Artistic Director Claudio Longhi.

We open our doors to the reading groups from the Library Network of the Municipality of Milan, from the community and from the circuit of the city’s independent bookshops, with cues for reading drawn from the theatre’s programme. An exploration of theatre and literature on multiple fronts: the complete reading of narrative works and encounters for in-depth study involving artists and writers, held in the theatre, in libraries or alternative spaces.
 

In the wake of the experience with the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II of Lisbon, with Primeria Vez, for the fourth season, we open to spectators who never had the opportunity to enter Piccolo. Open to all citizens, the project offers the possibility to see three different shows, explore our spaces, and meet with stage performers.

The project provides for a series of special evenings with post-show encounters between young audiences and artists in a friendly and informal setting, attracting and involving a new community of spectators.

The format, created by On Air, a cultural association created to celebrate the role of the sciences – pure, human and social – provides for a series of encounters to examine the themes of a number of productions with an innovative and absorbing approach.

Stormi, the magazine curated by the editorial team of Stratagemmi – Prospettive Teatrali and created by students at the Università degli Studi di Milano, continues its adventure, addressing the theatre and its community of artists, new forms of contamination and new audiences.
