Can urban space be explored through performative exercises that change our perception of what we define as the suburbs, even if just for a few hours? Can a district be seen as a single, uninterrupted and spontaneous performance?

Quartiere Corvetto
LOCATION AND DATES TO BE DEFINED
For the third and final performance of the “UNLOCK THE CITY!” project – dedicated to the relationship between theatre and city, Sotterraneo has developed a project set out over two complementary levels: a book of performative exercises to be freely carried out in the Corvetto-Porto di mare area, and a guided performance that, taking its cue from the exercises in the book, offers spectators a series of theatrical events within the district.
The book and the performance will be launched simultaneously through a recreational and proactive thought-in-action experience, a moment in which the geography of the city converges and the very concept of limit and boundary is, at least for a few hours, suspended, interweaving displaced actions and urban micro-events through a collective exploration that culminates in a blend of DJ set and theatre.
We meet in an afternoon in late spring, walking to the boundaries between the many worlds of Corvetto; we drift apart, lose ourselves, reunite and dance as the sun sets over South Milan. It will be like agreeing to meet up for the end of the world, so as not to have to face it alone. Then, true to its ephemeral character, the performance will vanish. The book, however, will remain for future use by anyone who wants.
Duration: the play is currently in production
