Milano Flamenco Festival 2026
A flamenco of an increasingly novel and stimulating breadth that, while maintaining its essence, confirms its role as an art among arts. Now in its nineteenth edition, Milano Flamenco Festival returns to the stage of the Teatro Strehler from 15 to 19 June 2026.
An essential element in our programme, Milano Flamenco Festival is a precious presentation of the vibrant contemporary flamenco scene, with international icons of dance alongside the most innovative and avant-garde of emerging artists.
Hilos is the common thread of this edition of the Festival: a reflection on the possibility of rebirth, redefining the borders of identity and reconsidering tradition by welcoming it into the present. Literal and symbolic threads are woven into memories, movements and meanings that connect past and present, giving form to a constantly transforming identity.
Weaving these threads is the late poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, in the 90th anniversary of his death. Three artists – Úrsula López, Manuel Liñán e José Maya – bring three Italian premieres to the stage, three worlds which illuminate each other reciprocally and reflect the Granadian artist's universe: a flamenco that is visceral, poetic, innovative, social, and political.
Milano Flamenco Festival is a Punto Flamenco AC event with artistic direction by Mariarosaria Mottola, with the patronage of Comune di Milanoil, support from Ministerio de Cultura de España, in collaboration with Oficina Cultural Embajada de España, and co-financed by AC/E Acción Cultural Española programa PICE.
