The 19th century Teatro Fossati raised its curtains once more in 1986 to become the Teatro Studio and it is now named after the actress Mariangela Melato.
Created as an experimental space, a “gymnasium” for the young students of the Piccolo’s Theatre School and as a location for the annual international Masterclasses, the Teatro Studio is very much appreciated by directors from all over the world for the special relationship it creates between the actors and the audience because of its circular layout.
