Following The Nutcracker staged in December 2019, the pupils of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Ballet School return to the Teatro Strehler for the traditional show, which provides them with an opportunity to perform exerts from the most well-known and challenging of ballets, not only from the classic repertoire, but also from neoclassic and contemporary dance. An evening which involves all the courses, involving the pupils in choreography of ever-increasing technical and interpretative difficulty, in which they will express themselves to the best of their ability.
The course of preparation offered by the Scala Ballet School in fact provides the opportunity to further study various ballet and dance styles by allowing the pupils to become familiar with the roles that they will find themselves taking on during their professional careers.
Over the years, the Ballet School, which has a decades-long relationship with the Piccolo, has performed masterpieces by the greats of classic and contemporary choreography. The names of authors such as George Balanchine, Maurice Béjart, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Roland Petit or Angelin Preljocaj are sufficient to understand the importance of these works.
