The first close encounter with an alien life-form has taken place. This is not the usual grainy video taken with a hand-held camera; the alien was seen by everyone, hundreds of witnesses, photos and videos. One peculiarity of the alien is that it is not carbon-based, unlike all life on Earth. In the intense dialogue between the pregnant woman assigned to verify what happened and the man who experienced the event first-hand, a situation emerges that blows apart our relationship with the infinite, represented by enthusiasm surrounding the Voyager probe and the intimate fear of encountering “others".
The text, which has already been translated into English and German, won the 56th Riccione Theatre Award. As stated in the statement that accompanied the assigning of the award, “with just a few simple and ironic moves, the author creates a symbolic structure of immense power. [...] Between human and non-human, Pisano examines the conflict between acting for common interest and for personal satisfaction, pushing it to the point of catastrophe against a backdrop of a sense of the animal from which homo sapiens has never managed to escape”.
The plays on Saturdays 25 June and 2 July are surtitled in English
